While it was not exactly the type of win Coach Taylor Allen expected of his team last Thursday, but it was a much needed win and the first 3 points of Region 2 play for the Syracuse Titans (2-4-1 , 1-1-0) over the West Panthers (0-6-0 , 0-2-0).
It was Senior Anne Petersen

who paced the Titans in the 3-1 win with her first brace of the season (4th goal of the season), scoring the game opening goal off of a beautiful combo with Freshman Ashlyn Hall in the 5th minute & also netting the game winning goal in the 35th minute of the game. Once again it was the Freshman Hall with the assist.
The Titans completely dominated the second half, providing many scoring chances and having a goal called back. It was Priscilla Meza with her 1st goal of the season that completed the night for the Titans in the 71st minute, off of a Kenadee Arigot assist.
The Titans dominated the Panthers in every single statistical category, out shooting West 16-9 and winning more corner kicks 6-2.
The Titan Prep (2-3-2) team also had a similar match to Varsity , defeating the West JV squad 4-1, carrying a halftime score of 2-1 like their Varsity teammates. Gabrielle Bugtong (1st goal of 2016) opened up scoring for the Titans followed by the game winning goal & brace from Sophomore Taylor Tesch (1st 2 goals of 2016) and the last goal of the game from Sophomore Lexi Chenoweth (1st of 2016). The prep team has had 8 different players score this season!
On Tuesday August 30th the Titans visit Region leading Layton (3-1-0, 2-0-0) on their home field. Varsity at 3:30, prep to follow.
