Titans Shut Out Hunter

For the first time this season the Syracuse Titans (4-6-1, 3-3-0) posted back to back shut outs in their 5-0 victory over the visiting Hunter Wolverines (1-6-3, 0-5-1).

It was Freshman Ashlyn Hall that paced the Titans in the second half with her 1st Career

Hat Trick (52′, 60′, 73′ – 6 goals in 2016). Hall is the first Freshman in school history to record a hat trick! This is also the first time in school history that Syracuse has had back to back games with hat tricks, following up on Kylie Johnson’s performance Thursday. Ashlyn is the 4th Titan in school history to record a hat trick and it is the 5th hat trick in the school record books. Hall also added an assist for her team leading 5th assist on the year.

Senior Priscilla Meza netted the game winning goal for the Titans, finding the back of the net in the 22nd minute of the game (2nd of the season, 4th career). Senior Anne Petersen completed the scoring for the day, netting her 6th goal of the year and her 2nd assist of the year. (12th career goal). Kenadee Arigot notched two assists. (2nd & 3rd of the season). Porter Brown got her first career assist as well! You can see all stats for every girl, from every varsity game on the website under results/stats or here.

Defensively it was another great effort for the Titans. The back line of Brenna Hess, Grace Nelson (season high 5 shots), Abby Hall, Savannah Allen (career high 7 shots) & Porter Brown took care of business and the clean sheet for Junior GK Gabby Segura. Segura earned her 4th win  on the season (15th career) and 3rd shutout in 2016 (8th career).

The Titans out shot the Wolverines 44-4, putting 19 shots on goal to Hunter’s 0 shots on goal. Both top 3 in Sryacuse soccer records. Syracuse also had more corner kicks 9-1.

The prep team also had another dominant game winning 6-0 in a game cut early by weather.

Scoring on the day was Jessica Jude (1st of season), Lexi Chenoweth (3rd of season), Whitney Carlson (3rd of season), Kloe Swallow (2nd of season), Kenadee Arigot (2nd of season), & Taylor Tesch (JV Leading 6th of season). Asists on the day by Swallow and Chenoweth.

Next up for the Titans, another home game at Titan field against the Viewmont Vikings (9-2-0, 5-1-0) Thursday at 3:30 pm. In the first half of the season Viewmont defeated Syracuse 2-0
