Titans get 50th win in school history!

The Syracuse Titans (5-7-1, 4-4-0) defeated the visiting West Panthers (3-9-0, 3-5-0) Tuesday afternoon by a score of 3-1 for the 50th win in school history!

Quick starts in both halves paced the Titans. Anne Petersen began the day with a quick 4th minute goal (7th season, 13th career) off of a Kylie Johnson assist (1st season, 8th career). Ashlyn Hall after being named MountainStar Prep Athlete of the Week, continued her hot streak by putting in two quick goals at the start of the second half. (40′, 43′, 9th and 10th career goals, 1st Game Winning Goal of career). Assists on the goals were from Adriana Owen (4th career) and Anne Petersen (5th season, 8th career).

It was another solid outing for the defense , led by center backs Abby Hall and Grace Nelson. Outside backs Brenna Hess and Savannah Allen (4 shots) played tough defense while also getting the offense going. GK Gabby Segura had 5 saves on the day.

The Titans out shot West 23-13 ,  and put more shots on goal 11-6.

The Titan Prep had another excellent outing, defeating the Panther JV team 7-0. Taylor Tesch continued her scoring streak by completing a hat trick for the Titans (Prep team leading 9 goals on the season). Madi Dee had a goal (3rd season) and an assist (prep team leading 3rd assist on the season). Other goals on the day were provided by Lauren Burnett (Game winning goal and 4th goal on the season), Kloe Swallow (3rd goal of season) and Jordan Stimpson (2nd goal of season). Assists also by Kenadee Arigot (1st of season) and Sage Hopkins (1st of season).

The Titans look to build on their region standing with Thursday’s game against the Layton Lancers (6-4-0, 5-3-0). The game will be held at Titan Field , 3:30 pm Varsity, with prep to follow. Last time these two teams played, Layton shut out the Titans.
