Titans out in first round

It was another opening round loss for the #4 Syracuse Titans (7-10-1) to the host #1 seed Copper Hills Grizzlies (12-5-0).

The Grizzlies opened up the scoring in the 11th minute off of a beautiful shot from the right side of the field from their fullback that found the upper 90 of the left side of the net.

After calming down the Titans regrouped and found their offensive attack. It was the first 10 of the half that doomed the visitors again. In the 46th minute the home team found the back of the net on a corner kick. The final tally for the Grizzlies came 5 minutes into stoppage time.

Copper Hills out shot the Titans 21-13, on goal shots the Grizzlies out shot the Titans 6-5. The difference being the home teams ability to convert half of their opportunities and the Titans none. Freshman Ashlyn Hall led the Titans with 5 shots on the day, 4 on frame.

It was another good and building year for the Titans in a program that is setting the bar higher and accomplishing things never seen by the program in school history. They overcame a slow start at the beginning of the year and the younger girls on the team earned invaluable experience that will aid the future of the team. The team set more school records in the process, and the coaching staff looks forward to honoring the girls and their accomplishments at the team banquet, at a date tba.

The titans will face the faculty and alumni in a fun game Tuesday afternoon at 2:45.
