this past week. It was a hot but wonderful experience as a team, both on and off the pitch. The Varsity team posted a 5-1-1 record on the week tying with Wasatch HS for second place.  Varsity’s only  loss came in a great game against eventual champion Salem Hills. The Titans had a goal called back, hit the post a number of times, outshot, and outpossessed the skyhawks. Although SH capitalized on their scoring opportunities it was a fantastic game to participate in. JV posted a 6-1 record on the week, finishing in 2nd place. Their only loss coming to eventual JV champion Riverton.

The girls played soccer from sun up to sun down. Many days starting at 7 am and finishing at 9 pm. Days included 4 games between varsity and jv, skill training sessions, and other competitions such as a week long 3 vs. 3 tournament, a pk shootout, and a juggling competition. When the girls weren’t playing soccer they were found napping or eating heartily. Each night the team gathered together as a team for pizza, ice cream, winners circle, and  team swimming on the Snow College campus.

Coach Allen is pleased that the girls all had a great time, spent valuable minutes forming new bonds and friendships, building team chemistry and putting together new formations and other aspects of the game on the field. It was a fun, progressive week for the program.

Both Gabby Segura (GK) and Ashlyn Hall (F) were selected to participated in the All-Star

game on Thursday night, representing Syracuse. In the 3 vs. 3 tournament, 2 of the final 3 teams were SHS teams, it was Team “Victroy” (Gabby Segura, Kenadee Arigot, Abbie Riley, Laurent Burnett and Savannah Allen) who took home bragging rights from this years game, winning the championship game in a shootout.

Many of the girls have had a break from lifting for nearly 3 weeks. It’s time to get back in the weight room this week. The coaching staff will be there at 9 am to lead the workouts on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday this week before the UHSAA Moratorium the following week. Pass the word and get all future Titans into conditioning this week.
