Titans win at Weber

The Syracuse Titans (7-0-0, 3-0-0) went on the road in region 1 play Tuesday afternoon and defeated the Weber Warriors (2-3-2, 0-3-0) by a score of 4-1.

Freshman Caroline Stringfellow paced the Titans in the win with the hat trick (14 goals on season), following up her 5 goal performance against Clearfield last Thursday. Freshman Sarah Wynn put in the 4th goal of the day (7th of season) assisted by Stringfellow (16th season).

Other assists in the game came from Senior Kenadee Arigot, her 4th of the season (9th career). Ashlyn Hall (8th of season/16th career) and from Lauren Burnett (2nd of 2017/career).

Senior goalkeeper Gabby Segura had a great game in net, she had a season high 11 saves against the warriors. It was a late PK that got the home team on the board.

The prep team (5-2-0) lost a close game 3-2. Kloe Swallow netted her first JV goal of the season while defender Jenna Kelly put in her second JV goal of the season.

The Titans head back home Thursday to take on the 3 time defending State Champions, the Davis Darts (2-3-0, 0-2-0).

Cuse Defeats Clearfield, Frosh sets record

The Syracuse Titans (6-0-0, 2-0-0) defeated the visiting Clearfield Falcons (1-3-1, 0-1-0) Thursday afternoon 9-1 at Titan Field.

Freshman Caroline Stringfellow was on fire setting a school record for individual goals in a game, netting 5 of the 9 goals for the home team (11 on the season). Other Titans putting in goals were Sophomore Ashlyn Hall (8th season, 26th career), Freshman Sarah Wynn (6th of season), Senior Jessica Jude (2nd season, career) and Junior Kloe Swallow netted her first career goal in the victory.

Assists on the night came from Wynn with 3 (8 season/career), two from Hall (7 season/15th career), Junior Lexi Chenoweth (3rd Season/Career), Junior Porter Brown (1st season, 5th career), Junior Savannah Allen (2nd season, 5th career), and Senior Abbie Riley and Junior Taylor Tesch both netted their first career assists. Senior Gabby Segura earned the W in the net, her 24th career.

The Titans outshot the visitors 23-3, on goal as well 14-1. Syracuse outshot Clearfield on corner kicks 3-2 and fouls were at 1 a piece for both teams.

The prep team (5-1-0) recored a 2-0 victory over the Falcons JV squad. Sophomore Jenna Kelly put in her first goal of the season and Junior Taylor Tesch put in her first JV goal of the season in the victory.

The Titans hit the road next Tuesday August 29th to face the Weber Warriors (2-2-2, 0-2-0).

Syracuse opens region play with win

The Syracuse Titans (5-0-0, 1-0-0) opened region 1 play Tuesday afternoon with a shutout victory over the visiting Northridge Knights (3-2-0, 0-1-0).

It was Junior Lauren Burnett who opened the scoring for the home team pushing the Titans to a 1-0 halftime lead, it was Burnett’s 4th goal of the season and career (2nd game winning goal). Freshman Sarah Wynn continued her outstanding high school campaign putting in the final tally for the Titans. (5th of season).

Freshman Caroline Stringfellow assisted on both goals (14th & 15th of season). Senior Goalkeeper Gabby Segura secured her 3rd shutout of the season (13th career) and her 23rd career win, Segura made critical saves all night to keep the clean sheet in the net.

Syracuse outshot their opponents 20-13, on goal the Titans put 9 in favor of the Knights 7. They also led on corner kicks 4-3.

For the prep team Freshman Brianna Daw put in her 3rd goal on the season for the JV squad in a 1-2 loss to Northridge JV.

SHS continues their region campaign with another home stand against the Clearfield Falcons (1-1-1). This will be the 12th meeting between the schools.

The Syracuse Titans (4-0-0) completed their St. George trip with a great 9-1 victory over the home Pine View Panthers (0-2-0).

It was a historic night for Freshman Midfielder Caroline Stringfellow as she set the single season assist record for SHS. With her 4 assists on the night, Stringfellow who has 13 assists on the season, also became the career assist leader for SHS sitting one ahead of Sophomore teammate Ashlyn Hall.IMG_8150

Hall recorded her first hat trick of the season (3rd of her career) in the victory. She currently leads the team with 7 goals on the season. Other goal scorers on the night included Stringfellow with the brace (5th & 6th of the season), Junior Lauren Burnett (3rd season/career), Freshman Genevieve Gotschall (1st Career), Freshman Sarah Wynn (4th season) and Junior Taylor Tesch (1st of season, 2nd Career).

Other assists on goals for the night came from Hall (2), Wynn (4th season), Junior Savannah Allen (1st season, 4th career) , Sophomore Jenna Kelly (1st Career), Senior Kenadee Arigot (3rd season, 8th career), and Senior Jessica Jude (2nd season, 3rd career).

The Titans outshot the Panthers 14-7, on goal 9-4 in favor of Syracuse. The visiting team converted an outstanding 64% of their shots into goals, a new school record by nearly 30%. Senior Gabby Segura had 4 saves on the night, 0 goals against, and secured her 22nd career win.

For the prep team (4-0-0) sophomore Madi Dee put in the game winning goal for the JV squad in a 1-0 win over Pine View.

In between games the Titans enjoyed exploring the red rocks of St. George and enjoying a team lunch together! Friday morning Coach Brown put the girls through a tough workout in the park then we completed our trip with our annual Capture the Flag game. The Senior/Freshman team once again stayed victorious in the traditional game.

Titans win 1st of Road trip


It was a hot and fast turf Wednesday night on the DHHS football field in St. George, Ut as the visiting Syracuse Titans (3-0-0) defeated the host Desert Hills Thunder (2-2-0).


The Thunder got on the board first from a Syracuse error, but it was Freshman Caroline Stringfellow who helped SHS respond 4 minutes later with the equalizer (4th goal season) assisted by Kenadee Arigot (2nd season, 7th career). In the second half Ashlyn Hall (2nd assist season, 10th career) found Lauren Burnett at the top of the 18 for her first career game winning goal (2nd goal of season).

Desert Hills pushed the pressure on the Titans all night in the St. George heat. The Titans outshot the Thunder 19-5. Cuse also led shots on frame 11-3. Each team received a yellow card and the home team led on corner kicks 4-3. Gabby Segura earned her 21st career win in net.

For the Prep team Freshmen Geneveive Gotschall helped keep the prep team perfect on the season (3-0-0) with a 1-0 victory. Gotschall put in her JV leading 5th goal of the season.

The Titans stay in St. George and play the Pine View Panthers (0-1-0) tonight, Thursday August 17, at 7:30 pm. Prep team at 5:30.

Cuse beats Bulldogs

The Syracuse High School girls soccer team (2-0-0) defeated the home Provo Bulldogs (0-1-0) 5-0 on Thursday night at Bulldog Stadium.

Starting XI (Back: Sarah, Lauren, Kelsey, Porter, Lexi, Savannah. Front: Kenadee, Abbie, Gabby, Ashlyn, Caroline)

Leading the way for the Titans was Sophomore Ashlyn Hall with 2 goals (4th season, 22nd career), Freshman Caroline Stringfellow continued her hot streak with a goal and 4 assists (9th season). Freshman Sarah Wynn had another great performance as well putting in a goal (3rd season) and an assist. Senior Jessica Jude completed the scoring for the Titans with her first career goal and an assist on the night.

The visiting Titans outshot the Bulldogs 16-2 putting 75% of their shots on frame. Outshot on corners 3-0, and controlled possession during the game. Defensively Kelsey Steed led the way for Syracuse with 9 interceptions, 2 tackles and 5 clearances. Gabby Segura recorded the shutout in net (2nd Season, 12th Career).

The Titan prep team(2-0-0) also beat the Bulldogs, 2-0, in the first game of the day. Lexi Chenoweth paced the Titans with the brace, assists coming from Genevieve Gotschall (JV leading 4th assist) and Taylor Tesch.

Next up for Syracuse they head south for their team trip to St. George  to compete against a couple of 4A Region 9 teams. They meet Desert Hills HS on Wednesday night, at 7 pm, and on Thursday night, 7:30 pm, the Titans meet up against the Panthers of Pine View HS.

Titans win season opener!

The lady Titans (1-0-0) started the 2017 season with a great 8-0 win over 6A opponent West Jordan (0-1-0).

The Titans were paced all by underclassmen. Leading the way was Freshmen Caroline Stringfellow, Sarah Wynn , and Ashlyn Hall with 2 goals a piece. Lauren Burnett and Whitney Carlson rounded out the scoring for the Titans. Assisting for SHS on the afternoon, Stringfellow led the way with 5, a new school single game record. Others assisting included Sarah Wynn (2), others with one assist a piece included Ashlyn Hall, Lauren Burnett, Kelsey Steed, Kenadee Arigot, Lexi Chenoweth and Kloe Swallow. Gabby Segura secured her 11th career shutout in the preseason victory.

The Titans outshot the Jaguars 27-2 putting 21 goals on frame for a school record 78% of shots on frame. Another school record set was the 30% conversion rate for shots as a % of goals. All Titan Stats can be found under the history page on the homepage of the website

The prep team continued the success with a resounding 9-0 victory. Leading the JV squad was Genevieve Gotschall with 4 goals on the day. Other scorers included Brianna Daw with 2 goals, Jordan Stimpson, Whitney Carlson and Mariah Harker each put a goal in for Syracuse.

Up next for the Titans they will open up the season for the Provo Bulldogs (0-0-0) on Thursday August 10th @ Provo high school. Prep team will compete at 5, Varsity at 7 pm on the PHS football field.
