Cuse beats Bulldogs

The Syracuse High School girls soccer team (2-0-0) defeated the home Provo Bulldogs (0-1-0) 5-0 on Thursday night at Bulldog Stadium.

Leading the way for the Titans was Sophomore Ashlyn Hall with 2 goals (4th season, 22nd career), Freshman Caroline Stringfellow continued her hot streak with a goal and 4 assists (9th season). Freshman Sarah Wynn had another great performance as well putting in a goal (3rd season) and an assist. Senior Jessica Jude completed the scoring for the Titans with her first career goal and an assist on the night.

The visiting Titans outshot the Bulldogs 16-2 putting 75% of their shots on frame. Outshot on corners 3-0, and controlled possession during the game. Defensively Kelsey Steed led the way for Syracuse with 9 interceptions, 2 tackles and 5 clearances. Gabby Segura recorded the shutout in net (2nd Season, 12th Career).

The Titan prep team(2-0-0) also beat the Bulldogs, 2-0, in the first game of the day. Lexi Chenoweth paced the Titans with the brace, assists coming from Genevieve Gotschall (JV leading 4th assist) and Taylor Tesch.

Next up for Syracuse they head south for their team trip to St. George  to compete against a couple of 4A Region 9 teams. They meet Desert Hills HS on Wednesday night, at 7 pm, and on Thursday night, 7:30 pm, the Titans meet up against the Panthers of Pine View HS.
