Titans Lose 1st of Season

Senior Jessica Jude fights for positioning

It was a hot smokey afternoon at Layton High Tuesday when the visiting Syracuse Titans (8-1-0, 4-1-0) were defeated by the home Lancers (6-2-0, 4-0-0) by a score of 3-1.

The Titans made quick work finding the back of the net and drawing first blood in the 7th minute when Freshman Sarah Wynn put in her 8th goal of the season. Assisted by Ashlyn Hall (10th season, 18th career) and Caroline Stringfellow (17th season/career).

From there the Titans never got their groove back for the rest of the first half. Layton put in 3 unanswered goals, the halftime score mirrored the final result.

The Lancer out shot the Titans 9 – 11, they also put more shots on frame 3 – 7. They also had more corner kicks 2 – 6. Fouls were in favor of the Lancers 12 – 6.
