The Syracuse Titans (9-1-0, 5-1-0) defeated the Fremont Silverwolves (4-4-1, 3-3-0) by a score of 2 – 1 at Titan Field Tuesday afternoon.

After suffering their first defeat of the season the Titans came out firing, out shooting the visiting team 10 – 2 in the first half. Junior Lauren Burnett put the Titans on the board in the 15th minute (5th goal season/career) with a cross in the box from Sophomore Ashlyn Hall (11th assist of season, 19th career). In the 32nd minute Freshman Caroline Stringfellow put a shot on the far post causing the Fremont keep to make a diving save and Hall was there to put away the game winning goal (9th goal of season, 27th career, 5th career game winning goal).
Fremont put on furious pressure in the second half , scoring their goal in the 68th minute. The Titans were able to hang on large in part to a Kelsey Steed goal line clearance near the end of the game.
The Titans led on Corner Kicks 7-6 and had less fouls 2-6. GK Gabby Segura recorded her 27th career victory. She also had 7 saves in net on the game.
The prep team (7-3-0, 3-3-0) controlled a 1 – 0 victory over the Fremont JV squad.

Sophomore Jordan Stimpson put her second JV goal of the season in the back of the net to push the Titans to victory. Kaycee Kohler, Brooklyn Stringfellow and Briget Wallace split the shutout in net.
The Titans finished the first half of Region 1 action with a 5-1 region record, sitting 2 points ahead of second place Layton in the current region standings.
The fight for the playoffs continue as Syracuse travels to Northridge (8-3-1, 4-2-0) Thursday @ 3:30 pm.
