
The Syracuse Titans (10-1-0, 6-1-0) went on the road to play the knights of Northridge (8-4-0, 4-3-0) in a critical Region 1 battle Thursday afternoon. The visiting Titans came out with a 3-2 come from behind victory to complete both region wins this week for part of homecoming week!
The Knights found the back of the net first in the 9th minute of the game. Sophomore Ashlyn Hall equalized for the Titans in the 21st minute (10th season, 28th career), she was assisted on the play by Junior defender Savannah Allen (3rd season, 6th career) and Junior Lexi Chenoweth (5th season/career).
Northridge took their last lead of the game in stoppage time of the first half. Syracuse came out firing in the second half, controlling the game and possession. Freshman Caroline Stringfellow equalized for the Titans with a beautiful attack and upper 90 shot. (17th season/career), Lauren Burnett earned her 2nd assist of season/career on the play. Senior Kenadee Arigot completed the comeback for the Titans with her 1st career game winning goal (1st goal of the season/3rd career). “Squirt” put in the goal off a corner kick from Freshman Sarah Wynn (9th assist season).
Total shots were in favor for the knights 11-12, while the Titans put more shots on goal 7-5. Corner kicks were also in favor for the Titans 4-3. Senior Goalkeeper Gabby Segura had 3 saves and 11 defensive plays on the day. Segura netted her 28th career win with the road victory.
The Titans will continue to visit the road as they go four miles down Highway 193 to play the Clearfield Falcons (1-8-1, 0-6-0). The game will be Tuesday at 3:30 pm in the CHS football stadium.
