Titans blank Falcons, Hall breaks 8 year old record. Stringfellow gets in books!

It was the second match of the season between local rivals Syracuse HS and Clearfield HS as they met at the Clearfield High football stadium on Tuesday afternoon. The Syracuse Titans (11-1-0, 7-1-0) defeated the home Clearfield Falcons (1-9-1, 0-7-0) by a score of 8-0.

Sophomore Ashlyn Hall

Sophomore Ashlyn Hall (13th season, 31st career) netted her second hat trick of the season while breaking Felicia Sortor’s 8 year old SHS career goals scored record. Hall, passed Sortor  (30 career goals), a former Weber State player, on her third goal of the day. Freshman Caroline Stringfellow continued her outstanding frosh campaign by adding the brace for the Titans (18th, 19th season). Other goals were provided by Freshman Sarah Wynn (9th season), Senior Kenadee Arigot (2nd season, 4th career) and Sophomore Madi Dee netted her first career goal in the victory.

Caroline Stringfellow, with her 2 goals, breaks the single season scoring record of 18, set the last two years. Previously set last year by Hall and in 2015 by current Weber State player Kylie Harris.

Assists on the day were provided by Hall (12th/13th season, 21 career), and two from Stringfellow (20th/21st season/career). Dee continued her stellar afternoon with her first two career assists. Arigot added 2 on the game (6 season, 11 career),  and 1 assist each from Junior Savannah Allen (4th season, 7th career) and Sophomore Jenna Kelly (2nd season/career).

the Titans as well 8 – 0. Senior goalkeeper Gabby Segura earned the shutout in net (4th season, 14th career) and her 29th career win.

The Prep team (8-4-0, 4-4-0) also completed a season sweep, defeating the Clearfield JV team 3-0. Freshman Virginia Wallace netted her first two career prep goals in the victory. Taylor Tesch added her 2nd prep goal of the season, scoring both times against the Falcons.

The Titans continue Region 1 play at home on Thursday. They will face the Weber Warriors (3-6-3, 1-6-1) at 3:30 pm on Titan Field.
