It was a cold, windy and wet afternoon Thursday as the Syracuse Titans (12-1-0, 8-1-0) continued to defend their home pitch with a 4-1 victory over the visiting Weber Warriors (3-7-3, 1-7-1).
The Titans out shot the Warriors in the first half 7-4, but multiple post hits later and a Weber goal found the home team down at halftime.
In the second half the Titans blistered the Warriors, out shooting them 8-0. Caroline Stringfellow and Ashlyn Hall continued to build on their record breaking seasons. It was the Freshman Stringfellow that equalized for the Titans in the 57th minute. She put in her record building 20th goal of the season, a SHS single season record that she broke last game. Junior defender Savannah Allen put in her first goal of the season, the game winner, and her second career goal (2nd career game winning goal). Sophomore Defender Kelsey Steed (1st season, 2nd career) put in the insurance goal for the Titans on what might be the goal of the year. Steed followed Ashlyn Hall’s shot from her center back position to lay in the rebound. The Sophomore Hall continued building on her record, the career goal scorer in school history – another record broke last game, putting the final touches on the game with the last goal for the Titans. (14th season, 32nd career).

Assists on the game were provided by Freshman Sarah Wynn (10th season/career), Senior Abbie Riley (3rd season/career), Savannah Allen(5th season, 8th career) and two from Ashlyn Hall (14th/15th season, 23 career).
The Titans out shot the Warriors on the game 15-4. They also won the corner kicks battle 9-5. Senior goalkeeper Gabby Segura secured her 30th career win in the net.
The Titan prep team (8-4-1, 4-4-1) tied Weber 1-1 with a last minute goal provided by Taylor Tesch. Her 3rd prep goal of the season.
Next up for the Titans is a night game visiting the defending state champions Davis Darts (6-4-1, 4-3-1). The game will be in the DHS football stadium Tuesday the 26th. JV will play first at 5:30 pm, Varsity to follow at 7:30 pm.
