The host Syracuse Titans (6-0-0, 2-0-0) defeated the visiting Clearfield Falcons (1-3-1, 0-1-0) by a score of 8-0 in a early end mercy rule for the Titans, their second of the young season. This was the first of two games for 2018 in the Highway 193 rivalry. Syracuse leads the overall series 10 wins to 4 losses, a win rate of 71%.
Caroline Stringfellow led the way for the Titans with the sophomore’s second hat trick of the season (5th career). Stringfellow now is tied with teammate Ashlyn Hall as the state leader in goals scored for 2018 at 9 (38 career). The Junior Hall and Sophomore Sarah
Wynn both had the brace to help ‘Cuse in the victory (Hall – 9 goals season, 49 career; Wynn – 4 goals season, 17 career). To finish the scoring Senior Adriana Owen, had her second straight game with a goal, her 3rd of the season (5th career).
2 Assists were provided each by Stringfellow (6 season, 38 career), Freshman Claire Colquitt (3 season/career). Sarah Wynn continued to be the season leader in assists with her 2 assists (8 season, 19 career). Also one assist a piece came from Seniors Gabby Bugtong (2nd season, 3rd career), Senior Lexi Chenoweth (1st season/9th career) and Hall (2nd season, 32nd career).
The defensive unit of Junior Madi Dee, Senior Porter Brown, Junior Jenna Kelly, Sophomore Baylee Sanders, Junior Riley King, and GK Briget Wallace helped secure the 5th shutout of the season for the Titans (2.5 on season for Wallace). This is tied for the second most shutouts in a season in school history, one shutout shy of the school record set by the 2017 squad.

The JV squad played an incredible game as well and just barely missed finding the back of the net multiple times in a 0-0 draw. Sophomore GK Brianna Daw recorded the shutout (2nd season).
Last but not least the Titans won the Welcome Back assembly dance off against the other sports teams, thanks to the Stringfellow “sistas” for coreographing and a little Vanilla Ice throwback! Check out the clip on social media!
Next up the Titans face the region undefeated Weber Warriors (4-2-0, 2-0-0) at home, Tuesday at 3:30 pm. Fans and parents come #fillthehill. This will be the 20th overall meeting between the two schools.
