The Syracuse Titans (12-0-0, 8-0-0) swept their highway 193 rivals, the home Clearfield Falcons (2-9-1, 0-7-0) by a score of 3-0 Tuesday afternoon.
Junior Ashlyn Hall led the way for the Titans with the brace, bringing her goal total to 13 on the season (53 career). This was Hall’s 5th game winning goal of the season (15th career). Senior defender Porter Brown assisted on the first goal of the game in the 42′. Brown’s first assist of the season (6th career).
Sophomore Caroline Stringfellow finished the scoring for the Titans in the 64′. Her 14th goal of the season (43 career). Another defender added the assist, this time Junior center back Jenna Kelly. Kelly’s second assist of the season (4th career).
Senior GK Brooklyn Stringfellow kept the clean sheet, giving her 5.5 on the season and career. For Stringfellow it was her 7th win of the season/career. Helping to secure the school record 9th shutout of the season were defenders; Senior Porter Brown, Junior Jenna Kelly, Junior Kelsey Steed, Junior Madi Dee, Senior Kaytlyn Stokes and Sophomore Baylee Sanders
The Titans dominated possession the entire game as the Falcons sat deep on their defensive third. Nothing demonstrated this more than the shot advantage in favor of the away team 34-2. Although happy with the win, the Titans are hungry. This completes the season sweep against the Falcons with two shutouts. Overall Syracuse leads the series 11-4-0.
The ‘Cuse JV (6-4-2, 4-2-2) won by a margin of 1-0. Freshman Macyn Zimmerman collected her first career goal for the Titans in the victory. Sophomore goalkeeper Brianna Daw earned her fourth shutout of the season.
Next up for the Titans they continue their four game road trip visiting the Weber Warriors (6-5-1, 4-3-1) Thursday at 3:30 pm. ‘Cuse defeated the Warriors in the first game of the series at home by a score of 2-0. The warriors lead the overall series, 5-13-2.
