The Syracuse Titans (7-3-0, 5-3-0), after starting region play 0-3-0, have now put together 5 straight region wins. After labor day ‘Cuse defeated Weber (2-8-0, 2-6-0) by a score of 4-1, and on Tuesday went on the road getting revenge on Davis (6-2-2, 4-2-2) by a score of 1-0.
Weber Recap: The Titans had four different goal scorers find the back of the net in a resounding 4-1 victory over the Weber Warriors. Freshman Cortney Cobabe drew a PK early in the contest and Senior Ashlyn Hall (13 season, 73 career) converted to start the scoring for the Titans. Junior forward Sarah Wynn put in her 3rd game winning goal this season (4 career), netting her 7th goal of the season (38 career). Freshman Abby Schofield tucked in a goal underneath a sliding keeper for her 4th goal of the season and Freshman Cortney Cobabe put in her 3rd goal of the season to finish the day for the Titans.
Assists on the day were provided by Junior Caroline Stringfellow (11 season, 59 career), Hall (10 season, 49 career) and Wynn (7 season, 38 career). Junior London Ewing earned her first win in net, recording 5 saves on the day.
The Titans outshot the Warriors 24-13 and put more goals on frame 17-8. Corner kicks were in favor of the home team 5-1. This was the first meeting between the two schools for the 2019 campaign.
The JV Titans tied Weber 1-1, Sophomore Meleah Panter had her first career goal for the home team.
Davis Recap: Syracuse went on the road to Kaysville on a cold and rainy Tuesday. Not only did the weather feel like a playoff atmosphere but so did the game in a hard fought 1-0 victory for ‘Cuse.
Early on, Titans Senior midfielder Madison Yamashita had a goal disallowed by an off sides call, leaving both teams knotted at 0 at half. 5 minutes into the second stanza lightning caused a delay. Upon starting play again the Titans went on the offensive. Their many scoring opportunities were finally earned late in the half. Caroline Stringfellow earned the direct kick for the Titans off of a Darts foul. Ashlyn Hall put in her first game winning goal of the season (18th career).
A great defensive effort from Riley King, Keelee Cella, Baylee Sanders, Madi Dee, Jenna Kelly, Kelsey Steed and goal keeper London Ewing earned the shutout for the Titans. Ewing earned her first career shutout in net. She had 4 saves on the day. It was the 3rd shutout for the Titans this year, pushing them ahead of Davis in the region standings.

Syracuse out shot the Darts 19-13 putting more on frame 7-4. They had more corner kicks as well, 7-1. Both teams were called off sides 2 times .
The JV Titans fell to the Darts 0-2.
The Titans have a bye Thursday (along with all of Region 1) and will go and enjoy a Top 12 NCAA Womens Soccer match up between BYU and Texas A&M in Provo Thursday evening as a team. After the bye ‘Cuse will look to avenge an earlier region loss to Fremont (7-3-0, 6-2-0). The Silver Wolves will visit Titan field on Tuesday September 17th @ 3:30 pm, JV to follow.
